PJCA Representative Team and Trial Dates – Update
Date of Event Penrith Junior Cricket Association Inc: Tue Jul 2, 2019 8:53AM

As recently communicated there have been changes to the Cricket NSW Representative Structure this year on many levels.

Here at the PJCA we have made the decision to fully align ourselves exclusively with Cricket NSW and the new NSW Metro Youth Championship representative pathway moving forward. The NSW Metro Youth Championship replaces the DCA competition from previous years.

For season 2019/20, the PJCA will be entering a team in each of the following Cricket NSW Metro Youth Championships competitions only:

Male                                                                                                 Female

  • U12’s Division 1 & U12’s Division 2
  • U13’s Division 1 & U13’s Division 2
  • U14’s
  • U15’s
  • U16’s
  • U13’s
  • U15’s

Please note:  that the IDCA (also known as PC’s) competition is not a recognised nor endorsed Representation competition or pathway of Cricket NSW. Therefore given the PJCA is now fully aligned with the vision and structures of Cricket NSW we will be not entering teams in this independently operated competition for this season. At this point in time the IDCA has not committed to what competition is may be offering.

Competition Structure:

  • Commences Sunday 29 September (except U16 TBC)
  • Penrith will be in the Thunder Zone (8 teams)
  • Competition will consist of 9 games including 7 x one dayers, 2 x 20/20 (except U16 which will remain at 5 x one day games)
  • U14’s and U15’s compulsory turf
  • Teams to consist of 13 players (to be confirmed)
  • PJCA fees to be confirmed but we do know $130 per player is to be paid directly to Cricket NSW. Based on this please expect a small increase.
  • Coloured uniforms are now allowed and will become compulsory in future years. PJCA will be looking to implement full coloured uniforms this season

    Trials:

  • First trial sessions (male U12 to U15) will consist of a 1 hour fitness assessment followed by a net session. Second trial session will be an outdoor open wicket trial
  • Player must wear white cricket pants and club shirt for trials. No representative gear is permitted to be worn
  • Children must arrive 15 minutes before session time, proceed to the registration table to have their name marked off and receive their allocated bib
  • A brief parent information session prior to each first trial date will be conducted and a minimum of 1 parent is required to attend
  • All potential players will be asked to complete a clothing sheet during trials please know your correct sizing and requirements as this will be the only time available to ensure you are correctly attired for the season
  • Both child and parents will be required to commit to the PJCA Code of Conduct and the General Conditions of participation in our program. This Player and Parent Manual is available on the PJCA website (under the Representative Cricket tab)
  • Parents will be asked to remain outside of designated player only areas during the trials. It is important that parents do not provide any instruction to their child during the trial process.
